Raymond Williams Jr.
Ray Williams is a founding member of Northport Financial. He is active in insurance, reinsurance and risk management consulting. Working with actuarial representatives, Ray has performed detailed underwriting and pricing analyses on business portfolios for major property and casualty carriers. He has conducted underwriting due diligence reviews for domestic and foreign carriers and has led internal audits of branch and regional operations for Northport client companies. In addition, Ray has an extensive background in the development of underwriting guidelines and procedures for insurance and reinsurance carriers, pools, and risk retention groups. Ray has consulted managing underwriting facilities regarding carrier strategies, underwriting documentation requirements and data management designed to effectively manage their carrier relationships.
Prior to the formation of Northport Financial, Mr. Williams’ experience exceeded twenty-seven years with national and international insurance companies. Carrier responsibilities included the launch of several startup underwriting facilities, actuarial liaison for in-depth underwriting results analysis and large account home office referrals. Mr. Williams holds a B.A. in History from Seton Hall University and an MBA in Quantitative Analysis from Seton Hall’s Graduate Business School. He is a licensed New Jersey insurance producer.
Arthur B. McHugh
Arthur McHugh has been leading Northport’s underwriting audit and due diligence services for five years. Art joined Northport after a successful career expanding more than 48 years of diversified insurance company underwriting experience including assignments at senior management levels and chief underwriting officer positions for large national insurance carriers. Art has a broad-based working knowledge of property and casualty insurance operations. His strengths include technical underwriting expertise, operational management, market analysis and strategic planning with a focus on the development of new opportunities.
Art has extensive experience in the program and alternative risk insurance business segments in both a company and a managing general agency capacity. He has worked closely with agents, brokers and reinsurance intermediaries to develop new programs and expand relationships with new markets.
Mr. McHugh holds a B.A. in Political Science from Stonehill College and has attended Cornell’s Effective Executive Workshop, Kellogg School of Management’s Managing Human Resources Effectively and Darden School of Management’s Transformational Leadership programs. Mr. McHugh has Property and Casualty Insurance Agent and Excess Lines Broker licenses.
Carl A. Fuchs
Carl Fuchs, a founding partner of Northport Financial, is experienced in a wide range of complex insurance, risk management and forensic underwriting matters. In the property and casualty area, Carl has represented insurance and reinsurance carriers providing due diligence and compliance audits. He has worked with law firms to interpret complex rating plan issues and has provided testimony in insurance litigation on behalf of policyholders. His work has also included forensic underwriting to risk management clients. Carl has developed underwriting and operational guidelines for foreign and domestic insurance carriers.
Prior to forming Northport Financial, Carl worked for over thirty-five years in all phases of insurance company operations including underwriting, underwriting management, administration and home office management for large national and international insurance carriers. He received his B.A. from Hastings College and has several insurance-related designations including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Reinsurance, Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance, Associate in Risk Management and Associate in Premium Auditing.
John E. Paglione
John Paglione joined Northport Financial eighteen years ago after more than 40 years in the information technology field. John held senior management positions in major financial institutions and information technology solutions companies, providing a background that complements Northport’s underwriting services. His experience in the information technology field includes assisting clients in a variety of vertical markets through a hands-on approach of assessing current operations, budgets, policy and procedures. Using this analysis John developed and managed business plans from inception to implementation to help clients meet their desired objectives and goals.
John’s includes project management experience that includes Project Management Office (PMO) oversight, conducting Due Diligence reviews for merger and acquisition activities, and Contingency, Business Interruption and Disaster Recovery planning. He has facilitated product assessments, design, development, system integration, testing and implementation. John also has facilitated client efforts in the development/review of Request For Information (RFI), and Request For Proposal (RFP).
Drawing on his diversified background and proven track record in positions at the Senior Management levels, John enhances Northport’s ability to provide client organizations with marketing strategies and the technical leadership, team building and oversight required during transition and project implementation.
Mr. Paglione holds a B.A. in Sociology from New Jersey City University, and an MBA in Management Information Sciences from Saint Peters University; holds a Certificate from the Business of Banking School (BOB) and a NJDOE Certificate of Eligibility to teach Business Economics/Finance/Law.
Linda B. Williams
Linda Williams assumes a broad range of operational responsibilities within Northport. As Northport’s business manager she has responsibility for the financial management of the company overseeing the invoicing, collections and banking activities. Linda coordinates the annual budget and reporting process, manages the strategic operating plan and the external resources deployed by Northport. In addition, she provides research and development support and assists in the organization and management of projects.
Ms. Williams taught mathematics for 30 years and worked in the tax preparation field for 18 years as a consultant for H&R Block. She holds a B.S. as well as an M.S. in Mathematics from Seton Hall University. She also holds an M.A. in School Business Administration from Kean University.
